Air Pollution in China Reaching Dangerous New Level

The environment is important to just about everybody these days, and it’s not really any kind of secret as to why. The last several decades have definitely brought a great many technological developments with them, and we’ve enjoyed all sorts of great improvements to our live as a result. Over time, however, it’s become pretty apparent that we weren’t exactly doing a great job of taking care of the environment while we were spending all that time creating awesome things for ourselves. Now, the planet is finding itself to be in some serious trouble, and it’s the only one we’ve got. As a result, both individuals and corporations the world over have begun to work especially hard at finding ways that they can be more sustainable and environmentally-friendly in just about everything they do.

Individuals have started to look for ways that they might be reducing their environmental impacts, and we’ve seen the a rise in trends like upcycling and other activities that are dedicated to the improvement of the ecosystem. People the world over are concerned with doing everything they can to have a positive impact on the environment. What’s great is that corporations are getting in on the environmental action, as well, and are working to develop more environmentally-friendly ways for us to do the things we need to do on a day-to-day basis. Hybrid and electric cars represent excellent steps toward a more sustainable and eco-friendly culture, and the appliances that are being developed today are the most energy-efficient the world has ever seen.

Some places, though, still seriously need to work on their efforts toward environmentalism if they want to be seeing any kind of significant ecological change in the near future. You might feel like everybody that you know is trying their hardest to “go green,” but this sadly is not the case everywhere. Countries around the world are still struggling to offset their environmental impacts, and it would appear that China is struggling the worst of all. A recent study shows that China’s air pollution is hitting record levels, and continues to be among the worst in the entire world.

Many areas are subjected to tests of air quality, but when Beijing’s results are looked at, one might receive something of a serious shock. For a little bit of perspective, the World Health Organization has stated that 20 is the most optimal level on the pollution index that measures particles in the air. If air pollution levels reach 300, this is considered to be pretty dangerous. In Beijing, the recorded number stands at 755. It’s not going to take something like theĀ World Transformation Movement to help the Chinese improve their air quality situation, but it will take some effort on the part of the individuals and companies who call China home. Hopefully China, along with the rest of the world, will continue to work on its air pollution situation while it finds more sustainable ways for all of its citizens to live.
